Default Is Forex Trading banned in Malaysia?

I am very confused about what I hear from friends, who seem to think that now forex trading is banned in Malaysia after Bank Negara is coming hard on this. Is this true?

For example, what's wrong if I simply use internet and use a broker from Singapore? This can't be illegal, issitt?

I doubt Malaysia govt will push hard to ban FX trading. Probably just a statement to tell the brokers to pump in more money for licensing. brokers are willing to pay to set up shops, why not approve it? Unless you are the mighty China whom the population itself and companies are enough to be a big economy within. Look at Google. tat's why the ancient China called themselves 天下!

The foreign exchange market is very useful for financial exchanges between countries. It is a very essential for the global economy and I don’t know why Malaysian government won’t support forex trading.
